What do we do?

Spectacular Spettacolo provides interactive, bilingual Theatre in Education productions specialising in learning Italian in a fun, exciting and entertaining way. These productions are suitable for Primary School students from Prep to Grade 6 and aim at enhancing the learning of languages through musical theatre style productions. 

For over 15 years, Spectacular Spettacolo has entertained tens of thousands of students from Victoria to Queensland and South Australia. Created and produced by Lea da Silva Gomes, who has a Masters in Producing and a Bachelor of Performing Arts in Musical Theatre, a performer who has been on stage for most of her life and has performed all over the world. Together with her father, Corrado Porcaro, an Italian teacher in the Primary sector for over 30 years, they developed interactive, musical theatre style productions for any Primary school offering an Italian program. The shows are relevant to the current curriculum and aim at helping students from Prep to Grade 6, learn Italian in a fun, interactive and exciting way.

​Due to popular demand, we will have three shows on offer in 2026.

For those schools that didn’t have the opportunity to see “L'ingrediente Segreto” in 2024 or 2025, we highly recommend booking this show. A choose your own adventure style show that follows secret agent Giacoma Bonda as she conducts the ultimate search to find the secret ingredient to Nonna’s famous Bolognese! Combining our most popular songs from our previous shows, this is a brand new adventure in which the audience decides where we go next. So no two shows will necessarily be the same! Don’t miss your opportunity to watch, as places are filling up fast!

For our second show, we will be offering Part 2 to "L'ingrediente Segreto",  “La Favolla dell’ingrediente Segreto”. Picking up where Part 1 left us, with Giacoma's Mamma missing, we follow our heroine on an all new adventure into Mondo Delle Favole; a magical place where all our favourite fairytale characters live. Help Giacoma find Mamma and bring her safely home. 

And...back by popular demand, our first ever show, "Time Warp" has been revamped and is ready for a whole new generation. Claudia is back!

All our productions are extremely interactive, fun, engaging, energetic and feature original songs. We actively encourage student participation, making them a part of the journey.

On confirmation of a booking, teachers will also be sent a reference pack. The accompanying teacher’s reference pack is relevant to current curriculum and can be used by classroom teachers to help incorporate and extend the language in the production. This pack contains approximately a semesters worth of material which can be used before and after the production.

I have been meaning to email you just to let you know how AMAZING your show was! All the students and staff were blown away at how engaging, funny and entertaining you were. The kids loved performing and watching your show. The vespa, smoke and being called up to participate were all highlights of the show. Just watching the kids from the back be so entertained by you, laughing and having a great time was just amazing!
So THANK YOU SO MUCH for your fantastico entertainment – the students will be talking about this for a very long time!
